About Us

Gypsy of Eden is an Australian owned business based in the idyllic sea side town of Port Douglas, located in Tropical North Queensland.

A chance meeting 15 years ago on the island paradise of Bali whilst Lisa Reddrop, Gypsy of Eden Founder and Designer was holidaying and out walking, had her cross paths with a wonderful local lady named Endah.

Lisa and Endah had a strong connection immediately and as they enjoyed a long chat, Lisa shared with Endah her love of fabrics and her desire to design her own clothing label. As it turned out, this chance meeting was the start of something wonderful as Endah had vast local knowledge and combined with Lisa’s passion for fabrics, eye for design and love of clothing, Gypsy Of Eden was born in 2008.

Sharing an ethical approach and love of the planet, it was important for both Lisa and Endah that no factories were involved in the production of Gypsy of Eden clothing. The majority of fabrics are hand - stamped by a traditional batik maker at a small family business on the island of Java. Once the fabrics are completed and approved by Endah they are then sent to Australia where the magic continues as each garment made ethically with love. Lisa is committed to ensuring that the design, labour and materials are kind to the planet and to people every step of the way. From seed to garment, that is the Gypsy of Eden way.

Endah and Lisa’s relationship has continued to blossom over the years with a shared love of animals, mutual respect and a sisterly bond which Lisa is eternally grateful for. All of this combined ensures that the Gypsy of Eden brand produces ethical clothing designed and made with a whole lot of love for customers to enjoy all over the world.
